Katrin Schamun is an urbanist, architect, media theorist and audio-visual artist who writes about the experience of environments under contemporary conditions mediated through technologies.
Schamun is currently a researcher at the BMBF (Engaged Science) project WIKK*I at the TU in Berlin. From 2014-2019 she was a teacher and researcher at Harvard University's Department of Art, Film and Visual Studies. She was previously a guest associate professor at the Academy of Fine Art Hangzhou at CDK (2013-2014) and lecturer and researcher at Universität der Künste (UdK) Berlin at the Institute of Gestaltung and Institute of time-based art (2008-2013). Schamun is a scholarly journalist and translator and one of the co-founders of the German online magazine baunetz-id.
